“If they say something, sometimes I keep it in my mind and it keeps replaying — like maybe it’s just a phrase or a word, and usually that can kind of spark a songwriting,” she says. Tenille says she does her best not to be “super specific” with the subjects of her songs, but says her friends and family have always been open to the idea of moments in their lives inspiring her songs. A few hours after Glenda dropped her daughter off for the writing session in Nashville, she returned to pick her up and learned the writing session had turned into a business meeting.
